Our Che-ju-Do exploration

1 st day before jeju-do

It was a windy, cloudy morning. Flying from Changi Airport with the Korean Airline KE652, we landed in Seoul's Incheon International Airport at korea time 7.50am. Our first impression toward Seoul's most reputable airport, we do not feel "wow" for the facility, in fact, we find it more simplier than changi airport.

Nevertheless, it was well maintained and you will be suprise that it was much cleaner than we expected.

Like many other tourist, we could not understandstand or speak single korean, we were asked to queue at line in the custom office where it is specifically allocated for foreigner tourist, we spent about 20min on the custom clearance and about 15 picking up our luggages.

Upon arrival, we were first greeted by our tour guide by local, David Goh, a Korea chinese who has been resided in Seoul for years. He then help us to board onto a local bus for a transit to domestic airport in Kimpo.

Before jeju-do, we had a slight delay on our flight to jeju, David decided to showed us around in seoul and spent an hour for our lunch.

We then tooked a bus to a famous hill site at seoul called Nam-Sam, where DeaJunggum was filmed. From this place, we could see a high rise Seoul tower from a distance. It was nothing but just another sight seeing spot for tourist. We were lucky to meet up with two Korean doll dress up in traditional costume. Our first meal was the korean's bi-bim-bab, or so called stone rice and a barbeque pork on hot plate. It was a mixture of pearl rice, shreded vegetables, dry sea weed, meat and sesame seed, grilled on a pre-heated stone bowl.

Lady in blue color t shirt is our leader this this trip - kelly goh.

the water flows from underneath ground for drinking and is is chilling cold.

special clay made pot to keep kimchi-a preserved korean salad vege. it is also used to keep preserved black bean paste.

Perhaps everyone were hungry, we ate our fill like a starving dinasour. As usual, i love to have a hot coffee after my meal, i paid 300 won(SGD0.50) for a cup of coffee from vending machine. To my dismay, the coffee turn out to be a small cup, it is almost as half size as i could buy in Singapore.

We move on, spent another 10min to reach Kimpo. We took almost 1 hour flight to jeju island at 2.45pm flight after wasting so much time in Seoul. In the arrival time, Jeju is foggy and full of mist. It tooks us about another 10 mins to our first hotel, the "Oriental", a 3 star hotel close to air port.
